2014 Top 5 Design Papers Posted!!

National Competition Results

The Laurentide team placed 5th (of over 200 schools across the world!) in the 2014 National Concrete Canoe Competition! This strong team performance included amazing individual performances from everyone; including the remarkable National Championship Women's Endurance duo of Aliena Debelak and Sarah Tenpas and 3rd in the Co-Ed Sprint Race by Adam Cichanski, Barbara Thunder, Megan Long, and JJ Blashke. 4 of the 5 racing teams placed in the top 5 Nationally in their events and led the team to a 3rd place overall finish in the Races!

Additionally, the Oral Presentation team consisting of Nick Molzahn, Megan Long, Sarah Tenpas, and JJ Blaschke placed 3rd in this category of the event with a strong performance and flawless answers to judges tough questioning.

Laurentide's final product placed 6th among the top 23 schools in the Nation!

Congratulations to the National Champions, the University of Nevada - Reno and thanks to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown for putting on such a successful event.

Finally, congratulations to the entire team for such a strong performance in 2013-2014. It has truly been an honor for all of us, and an experience we will never forget.

Team Elections

Elections were held this past Thursday, and the three newest Co-Chairs of the UW-Madison Team were chosen!

It is with great honor that we introduce Megan Long, Tony Shepherd, and Rhett Skrober as the Co-Chairs of the 2014-2015 Team! We all have total confidence in each of you and know that you will continue the proud legacy of UW-Madison Concrete Canoe.

Good luck on Finals, and we'll see you in Johnstown, PA for the 2014 National Concrete Canoe Competition!

2014 Great Lakes Champions!

Congratulations to everyone on the team, as the 2014 University of Wisconsin Team placed first in all categories (Design Paper, Presentation, Final Product, and Races) to win the Great Lakes Conference with this year's canoe, Laurentide!
