2003: Chequamegon
Overall 1st Place at Nationals in Philadelphia, PA
During the 2002-2003 canoe year, we will be dealing with the rule changes handed down to us by the National Concrete Canoe Committee. This year there will be no display category, no paint on the canoes, and our concrete mix will have to contain a certain percentage of fly ash as well as graded sand. Even though the competition has been drastically changed, we are excited to face the challenges that are in store for us during the coming year.
Our New Lab Space
This year we will be constructing our canoe in brand new lab space in the new Engineering Centers Building. Finally we get our own space! The new 44 million dollar building will also house our new office space. Don't worry, ASCE will keep it's spacious office in the basement of Engineering Hall. Now we just have a place to store all of our crap. Take a look at the pictures of our new lab, office, and of the new building in general below.
