2007: Descendant
The 2007 competition season came to a dramatic finish at the races outside of Seattle Washington with the top three competitors seperated by three tenths of a second in the coed sprint race. The UW-Madison took home first place in both men's and women's endurance races as well as the women's sprint. The competition was fierce in the Men's and Coed sprints, Madison took third in both contests. Overall in the races, madison edged out Florida by one point. With top five finishes in the other three components of the competition, Madison and Florida were gaurunteed to take first and second place. Florida came in with an overall 81.9 points with Madison taking home first place with 84.2 points! A great showing by all teasm involved madethis one of the most exciting national concrete canoe competitions in years.

This year's canoe, named Descendant, is Grey Black and Red. Descendant features refined concrete inlays as well as a new overlay technique developed by this year's team to create an affect unlike any the team has presented before. See the pictures below for details of the canoe.
